Server control panels

New server hardware management tools are available for installation in Invapi:

Server control panels:

  • cPanel - a trial version for 15 days, after this period, access to the panel is blocked. The site hosted on the server will continue to work, but access to its management will be lost until the paid version of cPanel is activated;
  • Proxmox - has no license restrictions in functionality. The license is acquired at will;
  • ISPManager - a trial version for 15 days, after this period, access to the panel is blocked. The site hosted on the server will continue to work, but access to its management will be lost until the paid version of ISPManager is activated. Access is activated automatically after purchasing a license;
  • Webmin - a free control panel.

OS:

  • Ubuntu Desktop - with an RDP server preinstalled. It can be used as an alternative to GUI installations of Windows. This operating system is based on the latest actual release of Ubuntu (currently 22.10). GUI is based on DE XFCE; RDP server is optimized for maximum performance. The GUI can be used for work tasks, except for watching videos and similar tasks that require a fast response of the graphics subsystem.

You need to go to the Reinstall tab to install and select the server control panel or Ubuntu Desktop in the drop-down list of available OS:

Additional parameters can be set below:

  • Public ssh key it will be set for the root user for remote access to the server;
  • Post-install task standardized Ansible tasks that will be launched after OS installation via Jenkins;
  • Post-install script a bash / PS code snippet that will be executed at the first start in a new OS;
  • Post-install callback URL URL that will be requested from the new server after installation..

After setting up the procedure for reinstalling the operating system, you have to click the installation start button - Start reinstall sequence.

Estimated time of installation:

  • cPanel: system installation - 8 minutes, panel - about 17 minutes;
  • ISPmanager: system installation - 8 minutes, panel - about 20 minutes;
  • Webmin: system installation - 8 minutes, panel - about 10 minutes;
  • Proxmox: system installation - 8 minutes, panel - about 10 minutes.

After the installation is complete, the Info >> Tags tab will provide information about the installed server control panel or Ubuntu Desktop, as well as a link to access the panel ( webpanel tag):

You may receive the following error message by clicking on a link to the screen:

You need to disable HSTS in Google Chrome to prevent this error.

Note

In the case of the Ubuntu Desktop OS, no link is required. It is enough just to launch the VNC console or connect via RDP.

You need to install the necessary packages by connecting to the server via SSH and run the command to connect via RDP:

sudo apt-get install xfce4-session

Server control panels installation specifics

cPanel

An authorization window will open after clicking on the link from the webpanel tag. Here you should use the credentials specified in the Info >> Tags tab. Then you need to read & agree to the license agreement and go to cPanel Store](https://store.cpanel.net/login):

Next, you need to register or log in to cPanel Store:

Activate cPanel trial period:

To activate the paid version, you have to click on the Purchase a License button on the start page of the control panel:

After that, you will be transferred to your personal account, then pay for the license. Activation will occur automatically after payment.

It is also possible to manage licenses in the cPanel Store >> Manage Licenses section :

Ispmanager

An authorization window will open after clicking on the link from the webpanel tag. Here you should use the credentials specified in the Info >> Tags tab:

Then go to the management of hardware.

To activate the paid version, you need to go to the account management menu >> Licenses section:

Press the button Order a new service:

Specify the period:

Specify the name and IP address for the license:

Pay for the order. The license will be activated automatically after payment is received.

To activate an existing license, go to the account management menu >> Licenses section and select Use certificate item:

Enter the certificate's code:

Proxmox
